Researchers from Hillmark (Dr. Gerry Nicolaes and Dr. Kanin Wichapong) have received research funding from the European Commission - the 2022 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) call for Doctoral Networks. The research funding will allow both researchers together with international collaborators to establish a consortium (PRAETORIAN: EuroPean Training NetwoRks to TArget DAMPs and NETs:  novel apprOaches in pRecision SepsIs pAtieNt care) to investigate molecular mechanism of DAMPs and NETs inducing sepsis which will lead to development of novel theranostic (therapeutic and diagnostic) for sepsis. The project will last for 4 years (2024-2028).
